Welcome to the Chopin Music Media Center! At the beginning of Chopin Music on August 15th, 2004, the site was relatively small and we mostly focused on the content and quality of our forum. After a while, we realized that it is important to have a home site focused on quality of content and material as well. Now, we make it easy to find many things such as photos, biographies, recordings, study guides, sheet music and much more. Enjoy! Please note that the Forum Library is currently not operating.

Photos

There are quite a few photos available for viewing on the site. The first place to look for Chopin photos would be the brand new and totally improved photo gallery on this website. It can be accessed through the 'Media' section and has many photos accurately organized within timeframes and other categories. The second would be the forum's library. It presents several photos of many different composers and musicians. Worth a look!

Biographies

We have many biographies in stock! The first biography, and the best, of Chopin is the one available on this website by visiting the 'Life' Area. This has a thorough biography of Chopin as well as an insight onto his life and career, influences from and on music, etc. Also, there is a secondary Chopin biography available in the forum's library, this one gives another perspective at his life and is quite interesting as well. Finally, the forum library also presents many other biographies of various composers and musicians -- photos and recordings included!

Recordings

Though many recordings are protected by copyright laws, there are still quite a few available on this website thanks to special permissions that have been given to us. We would like to thank them all for giving us this privilege. The first place to look is in the 'Library' area of this website. It has quite a few recordings of Chopin's various compositions as well as information and sheet music. There is also the forum library which offers many recordings of not only Chopin, but many other composers and pianists, worth a hear! Also, please check the 'Recordings' section the Links page.

Sheet Music

Sheet Music is also usually guarded by copyright laws and such, however we've found sheets that are not under copyright and are all available on this very site. Also, we've given a full list of great sheet music resource web sites on the Links page. Simply give it a click. The sheet music we host can be found in the library by clicking the appropriate category of composition.

Study Guides

Several study guides are available throughout the site. The most well-known one is most probably the one written by Malcolm Kandzia for the Chopin Etudes. All study guides can be found in the library by clicking on the appropriate set of pieces. They are simply in-depth descriptions of pieces, their roots, history, performance tips, etc. We would like to thank all of the authors for their contributions to the music world.
