I remember that I read somewhere I while ago about a woman from England I think, who claimed that she could speak to dead people.
She claimed that she'd spoken to all the great composing, she said that Beethoven had gotten his hearing back and so on.
Also she composed pieces she claimed Chopin told her, anyway it was a time ago I read this and I don't remember so much, but someone here perhaps know more and can tell us more about it?

Wow...
Couldn't someone just have recorded the voice though? We can't really tell if it really is Chopin.

Anyone heard Rosemary Brown's recordings on CD or similar ? Never managed to locate these, either to be impressed by the amazing compositions or for pure amusement value.

I doubt that this is not merely a fraud. In other words, being the reasonable deistic fellow that I am, this is probably a hoax.

Hmm i guess being dead diminished Chopin's abilities somewhat.

The Debussy one is somewhat catchy. Maybe I should learn that and post it on pianosociety as Debussy through Rosemary Brown, or Rosemary Brown with the help of Debussy. Then again maybe not.
Of course, she (her family etc) should have no copyright to these pieces then even if she hasn't been dead for 70 years, as after all Debussy has been and she didn't compose them so...

My thoughts exactly. The Debussy is not all that bad; however, I'd expect something much better from his "immortal soul".

I read somewhere that when she did some Liszt stuff he didn't give her the titles right away (maybe not at all) so I wouldn't be surprised if she named them herself. Therefore it might not be an etude at all. It's continuous and flowing though like a lot of Chopin etudes (the moto perpetuo kind of thing) so if it wasn't meant to be named that I can see why a musically uneducated person (such as herself, supposedly) would call it an etude. She also said something to the effect of the spirits or whatever kind of taking her over while playing some of this stuff (I think), so perhaps she really has no basis for judging its difficulty if she in fact knew what an etude was.
Just a thought.

Hmm or maybe spirits have a more difficult time playing the piano, so the etude seemed really difficult to Chopin when playing it through her hands, but it would only be difficult to entities currently possessing a host, not to normal pianists.

Regardless of who wrote it, i really like the "Danse exotique"... does anyone know where to find the sheet-music for it?
