Hehe, I know!! I quite frequently hear him humming along.. and in videos you can see his lips moving as if he were telling a story.. how strange. |

Gould was known for excessive humming while recording pieces--some attribute it to the Asperger's Syndrome he is presumed to have had. Maybe he was just eccentric .

Some other artists do it - its most probably just something they do without realising. |

i actually like to hear him hum as long as it isn't too loud (which is hardly ever), what i hate is when you can hear pianists heavy breathing. Now thats annoying! |

I have no problem with Gould's humming. I kind of like it, too. But when Pollini or Pletnev is humming, it sounds stupid. >_> |

Gould's humming is actually interesting to me rather than annoying. That shows he really captured the spirit of music. But I hate heavybreathers like Serkin. In his last years, because of some problems, he breathed so heavily, that is almost impossible for you to hear the music . Brendel does that also( sometimes) |

you sure? The paragraph said "The second 15 seconds is the same section without the filter" but it contained burping and some annoying singing...is that the REAL Gould's humming?
hmmmmmmm.....
but the name of that de-vocalizer is funny though... |

Of course it's the real Gould. How dare you to doubt it?
