I'd have to say the 3rd movement of Mendelssohn's first piano concerto. The introduction is dark and ominous, leading up to the completely incongruous entrance of the piano which is vibrant and happy. Such an antithetical entrance sets teh pace for a light and joyful finale. I think it awesomely funny.

Simon Barere died on stage while plaing Grieg Concerto in A.
Such a prestigious pianist die during this relatively simple concerto is some kind of sick-humor of god indeed.
And it tainted Simon's name forever.
People know him by his death on stage, not his impossible recording of the don juan or schumann tocatta, and also because of the absence of Simon, Horowitz dominated the piano world for more than 40 years.
Dark humor indeed. |

I'd say the musical comedy of pianist Victor Borge contains some of classical music's most genuinely funny moments, especially the famous 'Happy Birthday' variations he played in the styles of different composers, while exaggerating mundane characteristics of their styles to the point of pedantic silliness . |

I think the Sabre dance is Khachaturian is quite frivolous and funny...And the rondos of Mozart are also frivolous without necessarily being funny. |

Funny music- Hammerklavier Scherzo, it gets dark and furious with those chordes, then suddenly out of no where a major chord, and then stop.
Also, Brendel, spilling water over the audience, in one of his concerts. They gave him a flower, and he didn't know that it had water in side, so he bowed with the flower and.... |
