Do you mean Murray Perahia?
Perahia plays Beethoven very nicely. I voted for Arrau, he also deserves more attention for his Chopin recordings. A recording of Beethoven's Sonatas by Goode in which I listened to was lacking in staccato and seemed over-pedaled.

Found a new gem!
Lili Kraus. Anyone ever heard her? I can't comment on all of her Beethoven (though there is a complete set out), but I am most impressed by some of her early sonatas.
