My piano is called Eugene.

It occured to me, a little while back (today) that some people consider this unusual.

Anyone else name their piano? if so, what are their names?

I've always wanted to name my piano something, haven't come up with something I really like yet, though.
And since we're on the subject of names, I must say, what an interesting forum username you have chosen.

About a year ago, a dude, fatanticpianist (or facialpianist???) post his wedding picture in the member's section in the OLD Chopinfiles, of course, he got a lot of congratulation replys from the member, three of them are------>
An!ma' :" name your first kid Frederic"
then i replied : "what if it's a girl?"
Nocturneguy: "Frederica Chopina"

I still feel sorry for that kid

Ah yes, that was FanaticalPianist I think. And there was his FTP, which we called FP's FTP. Lots of good stuff there.

i know it's unnecessary to say somthing like this , but i will NEVER name my piano "frederica chopina "(ahhhhh! i can't get rid of it from my memory)

Hmm isn't the a-ending the polish way of phrasing possessive form? Because I was surprised when I read Frederika Chopina or something in some edition of Chopin's works.

I think they alter the ending slightly, and then incorporate the a-ending. I'm just thinking it's that, because that's how many Slavs do it

I don't know about polish, but in Russian, the A-ending indicates feminine form.

f.i.

Male:

Rachmaninov
Petrof
Gergiev

female:

Petrova
Shybayeva
Kolesova
Kuschnerova
Nikolayeva

So mr. and mrs. Petrof would be; Mr. Petrof and mrs. Petrova
