The Toccata looks and sounds impossible, but I definitely will be trying to learn it next year or sometime when I happen to find extreme virtuosic skills hidden in my closet. Wink

I've played the first page or so, its very awkward. I have a Richter recording somewhere thats really good.

The toccata is helpful in training finger independence and is rather tiring to play. It's awkward like someone said, which does not make it much different than most Schumann.

For another awkward Schumann piece, try the paganini movement from Carnival. Schumann is generally not a composer that provides a good effect/difficulty ratio. Still one of my favourites though
