most of the pianists on that series are dead. Its just recordings from the past. Its hard to find these nowadays, i couldn't find Bolet 1 or Hofmann

It's 24 dollars actually. Amazon.com sells it for 23.98. I have them all, which come in 200 CDs in total. Too many repeated tracks, I must say.
BTW, the best Beethoven's Pathetique sonata recording is played by Horowitz. You can't get any better recording than that of Horowitz's version. I have compared it with at least 20 recordings played by great pianists. Of course, Kempff, Arrau, Kuerti, Brendel, Schnabel, Backhaus, ...etc. None of them surpass Horowitz's recording of this sonata. It's generally understood that Beethoven's style of music doesn't really suit Horowitz's way of playing, but his recording of this sonata, my man, really commands respect from us.

oun may say that this sonata is perfecte .....well because its the first sonata that I have ever haerd for beethoven that has a good 2mt and a very good beging for the 1mt thats very defrent from any other beethoven sonata note mt=movement ya I am so sorry I have intered an empty post somthing went wrong

The problem with this sonata is that the thematic material isnt as interesting as some of the others, imo.

Actually, i like the way he dveloped the 1st theme and developed it through out the sonata.

I don't like playing the first movement. (haha my crossing hands suck...... though.... i could play rhapsody in g minor by Brahms just fine.....)

The crossing hands part is the only thing I can play right in that movement. Everything else I just mess up.
