Awesome. What's the Horowitz like? (La chasse is my favourite Paget, and Rach 3 speaks for itself)


oh its wikid. He plays the 1838 version of la chasse (which he simplified) its really cool, the cd is great because it has some recordings that were previously unpublished (liebesbotschaft, la chasse, chopet 10/Cool. for the price ($10) this cd is a must have (as are alot of the other naxos historical cds)


Cool, I think I will get it. It's only £5 here I think, which is a bit cheaper than you. :p

i'm reviving this thread.

today i bought:
the phenomenal martha argerich
Mendelssohn- complete symphonies (ashkenazy)
Alfred Brendel- great pianists set 1 and 2
Noel Mewton-Wood 3 cd set
Jean-Yves Thibaudet Mendelssohn concerti 1 and 2 +misc
Tamas Vasary- Rachmaninoff PC 2 (cd also has lazar berman playing 3 rach preludes)
the best of Rachmaninoff (i bought it for de la rocca's rach 3 but i didn't realise that it was only the first movement)
total cost 100 AUD for 15 cds

on monday i got complete hofmann vols 1-4
cost: 150 odd AUD

I just bought three DVDs...they are cheap, cos they are from china but their quality are quite good!

1. Perahia in performance of Beethoven
2. Michelangeli Live 1981
3. Tchaikovsky festival - Mikail Pletnev plays PC1 and Pathetique

I bought Horowitz - The Last Recording, a biography book about Schumann, and Scriabin sheetmusic (the complete Dover, except for the sonatas) and the Rach Preludes (B&H)

Boris Berevozsky plays Chopin etudes

DVD of Burkard Schliessmann plays Godowsky transcriptions on Strauss, and Liszt transcrptions on Schubert.

is this part of the complete emil von sauer on marston? or is it the mainly opera cd/r?
i've been weighing up whether to buy the mainly opera cds since the marston is sold out.

it's pretty nice, considering it was only $4 Smile
