Mine would have to be ...
- Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2
- Chant-Polonaise No. 5
- Auf Dem Wasser Zu Singen
- Lovedream No. 3 (the cliché)
What are yours?

I find that quite a few of his compositions seem extremely similar in some places, sometimes as if some parts are just in different keys. But that could just be me.

Oh yeah. I was noting that my two faves were quite similar to each other in their remarkable style of build-up towards the climax, similar colour textures etc. Remarkable.

A lot of the stuff posted already, but...let's see what I can come up with on the top of my head:
A majority of the transcendental etudes, particularly no.'s 3, 4, 5, 7, 10, and 12
Gnomenreigen/Waldesrauschen
Paganini etudes except for no. 2, which I don't understand at all
Benediction of God in Solitutde
Funerailles
The Two Legends
Dante Sonata
Les Jeux d'eau a la Villa d'Este
Valse Oubilee no. 1 and Valse Impromptu (they often seem to go together--the famous ones)
1st Polonaise in C minor
2nd Ballade
HR's no. 5, 6, 7, 9, 10, 15, and definitely 19 (I prefer Cziffra's transcription for no. 19)
Concerto no. 2 in A major
Hungarian Fantasy for Strings and Piano
Totentanz
Grand Galop Chromatique
La Clochette Fantasy (admittedly one of the less musical pieces out there....*ahem*)
Fantasy and Fugue on the name BACH
Beethoven Symphony Transcriptions
Reminisces de Norma
Saint-Saens' Danse Macabre
Infernal Waltz (Robert le Diable)
Schubert March Transcriptions and Erlkonig
And probably a few others..
Call me shallow if you will, but I'm a huge Liszt fan----that is, as long as the performer is up to it.

I'll try and limit myself..
Rhapsodie Espagnole
Jeux d'eau
Most TEs and PEs, especially Arpeggio and La Chasse. And Harmonies du Soir.
All the Hungarian Rhapsodies but especially no.9 and 11
His PC no.1
Reminisces de Norma
Tarentelle
And most of the rest of his works. Except Nuages Gris.

I don't know what it is about Liszt but I never think to learn any of his pieces. Yet, I do enjoy listening to them. I love the Gondola pieces....very dark and creepy almost. And Totentanz....hehe this piece is awesome.

I just love Totentanz...and all of his Hungarian Rhapsodies, even if they are a bit similar. La Campanella and Nuages Gris also stick out.
