I agree with "The Truth" [A.K.A Travis] - Sibelius is much better than Finale. And about the composing at the piano thing...Well, I compromise....I improvise at the piano and THEN go over 2 the computer and put it in. And then for orchstrating...I use my head for that!

I do use the piano (whenever I can get to it ...), but a lot of what I want to do is already in my head. I can get a general idea and plunk away at the piano if I need to. As for orchestration, I don't exactly have access to an orchestra, so I use my head for that one. I played in a top high school orchestra in my state before I graduated high school many moons ago .... :)As for which program, I'm still undecided. I quite like both Siblius and Finale. Both have their strong and weak points. I've only had one night to play around with the both of them so I am still undecided.
