Recommendations for computer music writing program?

Hello, I am fairly new to composing my own music, but I was wondering if anyone has some recommendations for composition programs that are in the more moderately priced range...Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

the best notation software ive used is sibelius. it is VERY expensive though, at a cool $600. but it can do pretty much anything you want it to. its the swiss army knife of notation softwares. the next best thing is finale. it can do almost everything sibelius can do. not sure of the price though, but i can imagine its way less than sibelius.

lt depends on which music would you like to compose...l am doing hiphop in Cubase SX, wonderful program, you can make any type of music on it...l have not got the original version, it can be quite expensive 8)

i use finale, but i have some experience with Sibelius too. I prefer Finale, but in general both programs are excellent notation programs. i found a few links you can read, if you like:
