Chopin Prelude Op. 28, No. 3: SATB, guitar, bass, and drums

Postby johnlink » 28 Sep 2007, 14:59

Here is a recording of Chopin's Prelude No. 3 as I have arranged it for SATB, guitar, bass, and drums. The recording was made in concert at the Alvin Ailey Center in Manhattan on June 8, 2007, as part of the dance concert The EveryWoman Series with choreography by Lori Belilove.

All the musicians are listed in this thread about the concert and my arrangements of Chopin's 24 Preludes: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1637&p=18207#p18207

Enjoy!

Thank you. Of course there are twenty-one more of these in addition to the three I've already posted, all of which we recorded and which will be on the DVD. I'll post a message when it's available.

Wow, that was good. Normally, I don't enjoy remixes of Chopin but this has a musical depth uncommon to "Pop-Chop", as I call it.

Thanks for expanding our musical horizon!

You're quite welcome. I like your term "Pop-Chop". If my Pop-Chop is successful I think it is due in large part to the fact that my intention is to stay true to the music, and to reveal aspects inherent in Chopin's compositions that are present but not obvious when played on piano.
