No matter how much I practice my stupid fingers are holding me back from something great! It's either your hand or fingers are to slow, or your fingers are to stubby or short, or fat! What can we people who want to succeed and play piano to the fullest do about our currsed fingers holding us back!!? :cry:

My fingers are definitelly too slow, cant play ballade 4 coda, or HR 2, or some chop etudes, cuz after a while my fingers lose the speed, its like they get tired or something...it sux...Also, when i am learning a piece, i start playing the fast parts great up till a point, then they totally stop, its like there is a mental block and physical block in the passage, this is especially true with runs...u all know hoiw much i HATE runs...

yeah runs are difficult ! DEJAVOOiWAS PRACTICING A SMALL CHOROMATIC RUN IN THE SONATA OP 14 C MINOR BETTHOVEN AND I DECIDED HAVE OF THE RUN MY FINGERING AND THE REST THE PAPRS FINGERING.iTRYED IT AND I WAS GETTING SMOOTHER WITH IT UNTIL A FEW TIMES I WAS HAVING THE SAME THING AS YOU. iSTARTED LOOSING THE FEELING AND THE FINGERING WAS GETTING JUMBLED AND I WAS FORGETIING IT!~!iBELIEVE YOU ITS POSSIBLE!! P.s sry for caps.... :roll:

If you use the time to practice instead of typing those complaint here, your playing would be a bit better....at least

lol, Playing my Schubert sonata makes me feel good about my technique. lol, mainly because it's all scales, but all the scales fit my fingers.

Umm , I

mentioned that practicing doesnt help this all the time.

Also, my fingers, i dun know wut u call it, its a dna thing, the last two fingers of both hands are normally curved....lol, its likt the muscle underneath the fingers is not big enough for the bones, before playing piano, my fingers used to lock. Piano fixed this though, i guess it was good exercise, but they r still funny looking. I dont think its called "double jointed" though...this makes runs so much harder!!!

I'm guilty of the nervous habit of biting my nails often, which hampers my playing a bit.

How does biting your nails affect your playing ability? I don't know because I don't really chew my nails because their usually too short anyway.

I always feel like my fingers are holding me back coz I have terrible finger technique. Shoulda played my scales when I was a kid.

My LH is also so far behind my RH its ridiculous.

I'm not sure, but I know that if I cut my nails too short it exudes heinous strife upon me while I tickle the ivories.

its not your hands that are too slow

they can move at hundreds of miles and hour

whats slow is your desire

your acceptance of the idea to move a certain way and the resolve do it just as you see it

playing at full fury unfortunately requires a bit of a ego,

playing with confidence and yet not loosing who you are when the piece is done

play the notes, become one with the sound, then master of the entire piece

you control your hands, you control the sound, you control the music

not the other way around

self just played the 10-1 at full speed with 99% accuracy today

why

because instead of hiding in selfs shell and trying not to let the sound escape the practice room and creep down the hall the ever so subjective ears

self hit the keys with all self had and said to every one in the building with blazing speed and fortissimo sound, "yeah, you know your impressed"

and it felt damn good

self then quickly retreated back into self when it was done

awesome! I always do that too, but then I give it all out in the end by playing etude 25-10...i do this everyday, its my routine! lol....

Da Rev is the easiest of them all i think, besides 10-3, 10-6 and 25-7 ofcourse....
