Well.
I've almost got it memorized, and I recorded it for the first time today (sorry, but no- you absolutely don't get to hear. Still too many mistakes!

)
Kapell's recording of this mazurka is my favorite ever, I've listened to it quite literally over 100 times, his recording of 50/3 is what made me love Chopin's mazurkas more than anything else. Indeed, I was rather afraid that my interpretation would end up being an imperfect copy of his with no originality at all. Therefore, I haven't listened to any recordings of the mazurka for about a month, and felt guilty whenever my teacher praised my ideas in it (which is frequently).
So imagine my surprise when I compared my rec to his- and found them utterly different!
I went through all of my mazurka recs and found that my interpretation is actually closest to Lipatti's, which I've listened to like.. twice. lol. It's cool, because Lipatti is one of my favorite pianists (next to Kapell), but its also a bit weird considering I'm not really familiar with his recording at all, and they're SCARILY similar, aside from my rec being 1 min. longer, due to elfups.
But anyway.. so yeah. I still think Kapell PWNZ it, but it's nice to know that I'm not ripping him off, and have some originality, and apparently a romanian streak, and stuff.
