Used to be Lipatti and Gilels, now Kapell is also on the list, thanks to the propaganda of Koji. ( and that's propaganda in a good way, mind you )

at this moment

Brendel ---- his playing feels like a vintage wine for me.
Gould ----he is Torontonian! (well, he is quite decent player, i like his recording even though i dont like Bach that much)
Hamelin----he has a cool name (well,actually i cant think of a reason~~~~~~~~~~~)

Gilels (got his Tchaik 1 DVD, IMO its BETTER THAN RICHTERS RECORDING!)

That performance is worth it solely for the reason that Mengelberg is conducting 8)

I disagree. Once you get amongst the very best, any ordering is entirely subjective. I haven't listened to enough Richter to judge him fairly. It just annoys me when ppl make comments like "oooh you'll never hear someone better than X pianist"
