i can help you with copland. the "cop" is pronounced like the word "cope" (ie cope with a situation). the "land" is pronounced like land in "Ireland".

f-you-g, I suppose (although I am not that confident after realizing how bad i had been butchering Shostakovich...did I even spell it right?)

I have a little question too, how do you say Kabotyanski (where to stress)
no, it's not a composer...just a random smart kid in my school...

i believe it is "ka" "bowt" "yahn" "ski" (the "t" receives very little emphasis, almost silent)

I think that's how it goes.

Can anyone help me with: Rákoczy ?

Thanks

Ex)
Mozart
Mohtz-art

(underline is the syllable stressed)

Bach
Bahk (Russian "k")

Beethoven

Bay-toe-vehn

-Chozart
Shows-art
or
Chohz-art
(Both ways are okay by Chozart.)

Czerny
Cher-ny

-Frederic Chopin
English-Fre-drick Show-pan
French-Fre-der-ic Show-pahn
Polish-Fre-dreek Show-paen
Nico-French :yay: - Sh-uh-pain

-Rachmaninoff
Rock-mahn-I-nahf
or
Rack-mah-neh-nawv

and so on...

My idea (I believe this is almost the actual pronounciation in their own langauge, notice that some are quite different from English people who try to pronounce it correctly :D)

Mozart: Mow-tsart (ts as in tsunami)
Bach: Bagh (gh as if you have something in your throat)
Beethoven: Bay-tho (Santa Claus) ven (as in sunken, but then with a v)
Czerny: Cher(as in cherry) - Neeeeee
Chopin: Sho-(as in Shotgun)-pan (hard p, "an" with nose (French))
Haydn: just as that
Rachmaninov: Ragh-ma-nee-nov (gh again as if you have something in your throat)
Dvorak: Dvor-chak
Schubert: Shu-bert
Clementi: cleh-men-tea
Liszt: Lee-st
Schumann: Shoo-Man (the "a" as in mam, not as in "apple")
Prokofiev: Proh-koh-fjev ("j" as in "jummy")
Grieg: Greeg ("r" trilling)
Debussy: Day-bu-see ("u" as german "ü", not as "you" or "oo")
Ravel: Raa-vel

Sho pan (shotgun sho) sounds wrong out to me, at least with an australian accent. I tried to say it with an (albeit terrible) american accent and it sounded no better. Bah, it doesn't really matter.

omg, those pronounciation keys... if you say 'pan' in a french way it would sound like pong in English. "sho pong " ?

Here are some names I don't know how to pronounce:

-Cziffra (si-FRAH?, or cz as in Cznery?)
-Hanon (where's the stress?)
-Consolation (Con-so-LA-tion?, just as English?)
-Un sospiro (again, stress?)
-Mephisto Waltz (again, stress?)
-Impromptu (some people say: Im-promp-tu, while others use the French pronounciation: Ehm-prom-tü)
-Mazurka (it is the "u" as "ü" or as "oo"?)
-La Lugubre gondola
-Jorge Bolet (this is Spanish?)
-Radu Lupu (Loo-poo or Lü-pü?)
-Dinu Lipatti

That's about it. Can't think of any more at the moment. Maybe I'll add some later.

You may have figured them out by now, but here's how I'd pronounce some of them. (That doesn't necessarily mean that I'm correct!)

Cziffra is like shiffer, with emphasis on the first syllable.
Hanon is like cannon with an H.
Consolation, yeah I'd say it just as it's written (kawn-suh-LAY-shun).
In Un sospiro, I'd put the emphasis on PI in sospiro, like "un sos-PEE-roh".
Meh-PHEE-stoh waltz
For impromptu, I guess it depends on which language I'm speaking. In French, I'd say it differently, but in English, I'd say something like "im-PROMPT-ew". haha
Muh-ZER-ka
It's hard to explain La lugubre gondola, without resorting to French. "La" is like "lah" (or like A in the scale of C major). Lugubre is kinda/sorta like lu-JU-brr (u as in a cow's meuhhh, haha). Gondola is pretty self-explanatory.
I don't know about the other ones. I say Lipatti as "lee-PAT-ee".

Hope that helps somewhat!
