Hip-hop

Postby juufa72 on Mon Feb 20, 2006 11:22 pm

So I have to write an essay for english class.

My thesis is as follows: (For the love of God! I HATE THESIS STATEMENTS! GRRRRR!!!)

The given selections of oral African folktales, through usage of proverbs, morals, and animalistic symbolism, can be seen and heard in the 20th C. Hip-hop movement.

Anyways....

Does anyone know any hip-hop songs that have some kind of moral or proverb or symbolism (clean symbolism) that teaches that one should stang up to opression and use the street-smart mind to overcome those in power?

Please help....

I need a sample paragraph on Wednesday and the final paper is due on March 3rd.

Thanks
-JG

hmm, your topic seemed kind of interesting, so I did a quick search. Hopefully, these two pages may assist your project a little.

Sorry, I don't listen to hip hop much though.

thanks! I to do not listen to that genre of music (very rarely). I am 80% "Classical" 10% Techno, 8% Hardcore Punk (when working out), 2% Other genres.

I think I signed my own death warrant by writing this kind of thesis. I could have written anything from these folktales to Chopin's (Katie not Frederic) novels, to Esera Stein. Oops.

and do you like to salt and pepper your food?

what do you mean opposing? I think not, there are plenty of DJs out there who use classical-themed melodies for their tracks. You can find a bit for Beethoven and Mozart.
