Favorite Operas

Postby Philip Daniel » 06 Sep 2004, 12:47

What are your favorite operas and/or music dramas?
My favorites, in chronological order, are:
Lully: Amadis
Alessandro Scarlatti: La Griselda
Rameau: Hippolyte et Aricie
Handel: Giulio Cesar in Egitto
Hasse: Cleofide
Pergolesi: La Serva Padrona
Gluck: Paride e Elena, Alceste, Iphigenia in Aulis, Iphigenia in Tauris, Echo et Narcisse
Mozart: All Operas
Salieri: Falstaff
Paisello: La Molinara
von Winter: Maometto
Spohr: Zemire und Azor
Rossini: Tancredi, Semiramide, La gazza ladra, La Cenerentola, La donna del lago, Guillaume Tell
Bellini: I Capuletti ed I Montecchi, Norma, La Sonnambula, I Puritani
Verdi: Otello, Falstaff
As you can see, I'm a great "fan" of bel canto opera :wink:.
