Postby iheartchopin » 21 May 2009, 20:27

Hey there everyone,

I'm a student currently doing a project on the great Chopin and I'm wishing to gain high distinction :D. This post would include as an 'interview' therefore I will definitely be rewarded with good grades. So the more people, the better!
All i need from you is to answer these following questions..

1. What is your name and age?

2. Chopin is an important 'romantic' composer. What does this term mean with regard to composers, artists, writers?

3. Where did Chopin get his inspiration?

4. Why Chopin was a Polish patriot ? What was in his music that made him a Polish patriot?

5. To which social class did Chopin belonged and what was his political view like ?

6. Whom did Chopin fall in love with ? Please write down all persons you know.

7. Why is Chopin remembered as a world-famous composer. What did he do which was new or different from others?

Thank you so much for those who complete this!

1. What is your name and age?
George Sands 21

2. Chopin is an important 'romantic' composer. What does this term mean with regard to composers, artists, writers?
Romantic describes the 'art' period between 1820-1900, which flourished in Europe after the French and Russian revolutions. It allowed artists/composers/writers artistic freedom to express their feelings/emotions and self expression. It was also the time in which artists had to make a living for themselves, without the benefits of the pre-existing 'patronage' systems of the Baroque and Classical periods. Romanticists had a love of the supernatural, occult, fantastical tales and pyschological issues. They tended to be patriotic and tried to express their nationality through their art. They were often poor, had sexual diseases and died young. Their 'art' was more important than food and they were revolutionaries. They often lived 'bohemian' livestyles, taking lovers, rather than wives/husbands. This period saw the rise of the bourgeious (middle class), who had money to spend on art and music etc

3. Where did Chopin get his inspiration?
From his Polish background - Mazukas, Polanaises were Polish dances.
Also, inspired by the natural elements, such as night (nocturnes). And, of course, his emotions!

4. Why Chopin was a Polish patriot ? What was in his music that made him a Polish patriot?
See above.

5. To which social class did Chopin belonged and what was his political view like ?
Upper class. Nationalist.

6. Whom did Chopin fall in love with ? Please write down all persons you know.
George Sands.
Liszt.
Himself.

7. Why is Chopin remembered as a world-famous composer. What did he do which was new or different from others?
He wrote the most expressive and passionate PIANO music, which was at times very, very SAD. He felt all his emotions about his invaded country so strongly and so emotionally that the only way to deal with these emotions was to write tragic and poignant piano music.

Thank you so much for those who complete this!
You're welcome.

Umm, Chopin never fell in love with Liszt, nor is there any evidence to suggest he was a homosexual. Back in that period if he did ANYTHING homosexual it would reach Asia 5 minutes after it happened.
