Piano Concerto #2 vs Grande Polonaise

Postby taylorwcn on Thu Jun 22, 2006 1:19 am

Say, what's more difficult to learn, the first movement of Chopin's piano concerto #2 or his Grande Polonaise?

Gotta be the concerto. Its overall less repetitive, and has just so much variation and changes of motif. Every few bars (not always, but you know what I mean) the style used/motif changes - and those runs are hell frustrating. I gave up after about a hard months practice (I usually don't give up at things but that is one tough piece...)

Well, I think the Polaniase is very hard as well... not completely sure, because I only playe the beginning of the Grande Pol. but I wouldn't know for the concerto..
